Born in Southern Missouri, raised in Southern California, lived my adult life in Southern Missouri, Southern Illinois, Texas, and Alabama, I am a Southerner through and through. I raised my children in the country. We worked hard, and we played hard. My children are now raising their children - and they're quite good at it!

In the spirit of Dday anniversary my husband (Chad Brinkley) and I googled his grandfather's name (Leon Brinkley) and ran across your blog site and a picture of his gravestone, to our surprise. I asked him how he was related to you and he was unsure, but curious. He is the son of Vikki Brinkley and the grandson of Leon and Bessie Brinkley. He now serves in the Us Army active duty 1-17 Infantry division and we are stationed in Fort Lewis, Wa. Correspondence is welcome! my email is FrancheskaBrinkley@yahoo.com
